The Delaware River is 410 miles long and serves as the boundary between Pennsylvania and New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and New Jersey and Delaware. The bay shores are primarily composed of salt marshes and mud flats, and the bay is known as an oyster supplier, and a breeding ground for horseshoe crabs.

Fort Mott was originally built to protect Philadelphia from enemy invasions after the Civil War. Today, the area has been turned into a state park, with ferry services to Fort Delaware and Fort DuPont, where visitors can watch Civil War reenactments and view the grounds where thousands of Confederate Soldiers died in captivity.

Newark has a population of around 30,000 residents, including the student population at the University of Delaware, the state's largest university. The town is a nice blend of quiet, small town, but is within one or two hours of several major cities. Newark is located in the northeast part of the state, close to the Maryland/Delaware border and just south of the Pennsylvania border.

Wilmington is the largest city in the state of Delaware with a population of over 72,000 people. Considered the "Corporate Capital of the World," Wilmington is the designated home for over half of the nation's Fortune 500 companies, and is one of the richest cities in the country. Wilmington offers an array of activities from a day at the Brandywine Park and Zoo, to an evening at the opera, the symphony or the Delaware Theater Company.
